What Is the Lexus Electrified Sport EV Concept?

The Lexus LFA is a performance-tuned coupe that made its debut in 2012 with just 500 made and a price tag that stood at $350,000. Lexus LFA models were built with a carbon-fiber composite body and were powered by a 553-horsepower 4.8-liter V-10 gas engine. Armed with this potent powertrain under the hood, the Lexus LFA would sprint from zero to 62 mph in 3.7 seconds with a top speed of 202 mph – numbers that the Lexus Electrified Sport EV is expected to beat.

With the Lexus LFA as inspiration, the Lexus Electrified Sport EV Concept will turn heads when it is unveiled for the first time to potential buyers. Not to be outdone on the track, the Lexus Electrified Sport is rumored to employ a solid-state battery to power a series of high-torque electric motors that are expected to manufacture 1,000+ horsepower. Additional rumors point to this new electric car going from zero to 60 mph in the low-two-second range with an impressive electric driving range of 430 miles. Lexus is expected to add a simulated manual transmission – like that employed by the European Lexus UX 300e EV.
