They actually created it, thanks to a collaboration with Lexus and Pitchfork. They brought together recording artists Madlib and Kaytranada for a collaborative effort for the video series “Driven by Sound.” The result is a new album with the two artists and a 2021 Lexus IS sports sedan with turntables installed in the dash. Through another collaboration with the creative custom audio and recording experts at SCPS, the Wax Edition integrates a fully functioning turntable made from 3D Printing materials into the dashboard. The full-sized turntable fits into the glove box with internal suspension so the music never skips a beat.

The turntable is wired to the Lexus IS’s Mark Levinson 17-speaker system. It is driven by a new amplifier offering 1,800 watts of power for a 7.1 surround sound listening experience.

For the audiophile, the sound will definitely bend your ear. In fact, it works very nicely.
