It is the Lexus IS you always dreamed of. Conceived from a brand new Shimoyama proving ground in Japan’s Aichi Prefecture. More than a car, the new 2021 IS sets the tone for a new approach to driver engagement and vehicle dynamics called the Lexus Driving Signature. This will serve as a reference for all future Lexus vehicles.
The design of the 2021 IS can be best described as muscular, athletic, and sleek. It starts from a newly shaped Spindle Grille, integrated headlamps, and a tapered roofline forming a coupe-like profile.
With design and engineering progress comes technological advances. The newest version of the Lexus Safety System + will add enhanced driver assistance features designed for Lexus moved the new 10.3-inch infotainment screen forward towards the driver for touch-capacitive use, as well as adding the Remote touchpad on the center console. The 2021 IS will offer smartphone integration for both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Initially, the Lexus IS will offer three engines: A 241-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine with rear-wheel-drive for the IS 300 RWD, a 260-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 with all-wheel-drive for the IS 300 AWD, and a 311-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 available in both rear- and all-wheel-drive versions of the IS 350. An F Sport model will be the flagship of the 2021 IS, offering specific grille textures and finishes, along with 19-inch alloy wheels.
