Back in 2008, the Lexus IS F started something absolutely amazing. It gave birth to F Performance.

Since then, the letter “F” stood for extraordinary performance in a Lexus. It stood for racing and enthusiasm. All Lexus F Performance models demonstrated that performance comes from a special engine engineered for exhilaration and excitement.

Once again, you no longer need to look to a German manufacturer for a luxury performance sedan.  This fall, the latest F Performance Lexus will arrive in Las Vegas: The 2022 Lexus IS 500 F Sport. It is the first of a new generation of F Sport performance models.

The new IS was redesigned for 2021, with an aggressive look and a driver-focused interior. The IS 350 F Sport model added more performance to illicit absolute enthusiasm.

The IS 500 F Sport is powered by a 472-horsepower, naturally-aspirated 5.0-liter V8 – the same engine that lies underneath the hood of the RC F and LC 500. This engine can run from 0 to 60 MPH in just 4.5 seconds. The IS 500 F Sport will even return an estimated 24 MPG.

There are a few cues that this is no ordinary IS. The IS 500 F Sport’s hood has a raised center dome to accommodate the V8 engine. Plus, some blacked-out trim to make this a very special car.

Underneath the slippery body is an enhanced chassis engineered to take the Lexus Driving Signature to the next level. The IS 500 F Sport comes with the Dynamic Handling Package (DHP), which includes Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) and a Torsen limited-slip differential (LSD), all of which improve handling and performance thanks to enhanced traction when cornering or exiting turns.

In the rear of the IS 500 F Sport is a performance damper developed by Yamaha that reduces dynamic structural distortion, delivering increased comfort at low speeds, and additional stability and agility at high speeds.

Brake cooling enhancements have also been made on the IS 500 F Sport with additional aerodynamic cooling and larger 14.0-inch two-piece aluminum front rotors and 12.7-inch rear rotors. These larger rotors fit behind a set of 19-inch 10-spoke Enkei alloy wheels.

We are just scratching the surface on this new exciting addition to the new F Sport performance series. Lexus of Las Vegas anticipates receiving our first IS 500 F Sport this fall. Contact us to become one of the first in Las Vegas to own one.
