Motor1.com on the Lexus ES 350: “Best. Seats. Ever.”
Jeff Perez, a writer at Motor1.com, had the opportunity to sample a 2023 Lexus ES 350 F Sport Design for a trip to Monterey Car Week. It sounds like Perez already had a favorable view of Lexus vehicles as he leads his review with, “Every car that Lexus builds is comfortable, from the entry-level UX to the racy LC sports car.” And continues with this: “Lexus has the best chairs in the business south of $100,000.”
Does the F Sport Design Meet Expectations?
He wanted to see how that brand reputation squares with one of the more aggressive-looking ES models in the Lexus lineup. In terms of seats, It is important to point out that the F-Sport Design does not have the most aggressive seating in the ES model lineup. The F Sport has 10-way adjustable front seats instead of the 14 adjustments on the Luxury trim levels. They are covered by the Perforated NuLuxe® (i.e., vegan leather) rather than the Luxury model’s quilted and perforated semi-aniline leather. Nevertheless, Perez states he had no trouble finding the perfect seating position, and the fact a cow did not originally wear the seating surface was inconsequential. He described the seats as “Supremely soft and supple”.
Perfectly Comfortable on a Long Hot Drive
With the weather in the 90s that weekend, Perez was grateful for the ventilation feature that is either standard or available on all ES models. He sums up his experience with the ES seats: “After six-plus hours of relentless highway driving, my back was fine and my butt wasn’t numb. The ES, like most Lexus products, is one of the most comfortable cars in the class. The sublime seats combined with a cushy suspension make it an absolute joy to drive over long distances.”
After a discussion of where the F Sport Design fits in the ES hierarchy, ladder, and that his particular tester cost $53.770, he sums up his entire article with: “But for the levels of comfort alone, the Lexus ES is worth the price.”
When looking at a luxury vehicle, what could be more important than seat comfort?
