Results of the Lexus Racing Team at the 2023 Grand Prix of Long Beach

The 2023 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach is a popular event each year that sees world-class racers in performance-tuned machines hit the track each year. The Lexus Racing Team continues to build on a successful race season with a win at the 2023 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach in the GTD Pro Class – led by driver Vasser Sullivan in the #14 Lexus RC F. Sullivan and the Lexus RC F led the race from start to finish. Vasser Sullivan was supported in the race by fellow drivers Ben Barnicoat, Jack Hawksworth and Kyle Kirkwood.

The Lexus Racing Team is in the midst of an incredible run this season with a third-place finish in the Rolex 24 Hours at Daytona and a second-place finish at the 12 Hours of Sebring – that led up to their victory at the Grand Prix of Long Beach. Vasser Sullivan and the #14 Lexus RC F beat out Marco Sorensen in his Heart of Racing Aston Martin Vantage who started on the pole. Teammates Aaron Telitz and Frankie Montecalvo in the GTD Class took third place in the #12 Lexus RC F.

History of the Grand Prix of Long Beach

The Grand Prix of Long Beach is the longest-running major street race in North America and was contrived by Chris Pook. It made its debut on the racing circuit on March 26, 1975 as a Formula 5000 race that was won by Brian Redman with more than 46,000 race fans in attendance. The race was followed up by a Formula One race that was won by Clay Regazzoni. In its current form, the race follows a 1.968-mile road course that runs the streets around the Long Beach Convention Center with close to 200,000 race fans in attendance each year.
