Lexus Motorsports Proves Its Endurance

The 69th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring has returned to its regularly scheduled date and time. One of the most challenging endurance races in this country. This old airbase has given the Vasser Sullivan Lexus Motorsports RC F GT3 both triumphs and challenges.

It was tough running for the lime-and-black RC F GT3s for the entire race. The race was already full of contact, crashes on the concrete barriers, yellow flags, and drive-through penalties. Even though it had one of the most exciting overall finishes in years, the Vasser Sullivan teams finished sixth and seventh in class. The number 12 of Frankie Montecalvo, Zach Veach, and Robert Megennis placed as high as fourth in class in the final two hours of the race. The number 14 of Jack Hawksworth, Aaron Telitz, and Kyle Kirkwood held their own, finishing as running at the end.

The next stop on the IMSA WeatherTech Championship series will be at Mid-Ohio – an “old school” American road course. The first “sprint” race of the season will be held on May 16. You can catch all of the action on the NBC Sports Network, IMSA TV, and on TrackPass.
