David Torrella, Find Out How He Got A Job at Lexus “By Accident”

David is originally from Queens, New York and his family moved to Las Vegas soon after 9-11.  At that time David was high school age and he started working at Lexus almost by accident.  

One day he went with his father to the Lexus dealership for routine servicing of the family car. While waiting for the car, David happened to overhear that Lexus was looking for porters.  He was looking for summer work, so he applied for and got the job.

After high school he attended UNLV first in their architecture program, later switching to hospitality.  He kept working the part-time porter job through college.

Upon graduation from UNLV, it just so happened that the new Lexus of Henderson dealership was opening up.  David applied for a job, got accepted, and became part of the 2009 incoming “freshman class” of new employees, some of whom are still around even today.

David says that working at Lexus felt right for him because he is a car enthusiast, he loves the Lexus brand, the management, and the people.

Most people don’t know that he speaks Italian and Tagalog, languages that were spoken at home when he was growing up. (His dad is from the Philippines and his mom is Italian.)

If he has a superpower it is that David believes that he can cool down emotional situations with his gentle manner and easy way of speaking.

He and his wife have two kids, aged 5, and 7 months.  In his spare time, he enjoys being in nature and will take his family camping and off-roading.
