The Future of Driver Assistance Tech

Some vehicles seem as if they can drive themselves. They can allow you to relax for a moment while keeping your eyes on the road. However, these systems need driver interaction for them to work.

The Lexus Teammate system has you, the driver, in mind.

This system works as an advanced driver assistance technology made up of two components: Advanced Drive and Advanced Park. These two features assist the driver towards a safer and competent vehicle experience.

Advanced Drive works to accurately detect driving conditions to plan and execute acceleration, braking, and steering commands to maintain the vehicle within the lane, follow other vehicles, change lanes, navigate certain interchanges and traffic jams and overtake slower vehicles. You can use Advanced Drive with partial hands-free, eyes-on-the-road operation. The result should be reduced fatigue and better concentration on the road, especially on longer drives across Nevada and beyond.

Advanced Park works for hands-free safe and secure parking. This system works by automatically controlling steering, acceleration, braking, and gear changes when parallel parking or backing into a parking space. It does so by using 360-degree sensing integrating complete-circumference cameras and ultrasonic sensors to provide a bird’s-eye view display to enable the vehicle to avoid obstacles when positioning to park.

The benefits of these new technologies are to increase driver competency with the vehicle assisting them safely with the assurance of the vehicle’s technology. This system truly enables the driver to concentrate on the road and their surroundings, keeping in line with Lexus’ reputation for cutting edge innovation. The result should be a relaxed drive whether it is on The Strip or down into California.

The Lexus Teammate technology will appear first on the 2022 LS 500h with all-wheel-drive, arriving this coming fall. Contact us at Lexus of Las Vegas to become one of the first owners of this great flagship sedan with this exceptional new driver technology.
